11th Independence Festival

The people of Mexico and most of Centro America celebrate their independence around September 16th, a date which marks the beginning of the war of independence led, initially, by the priest Miguel Hidalgo I. Costilla, in the town of Dolores Guanajuato, Mexico and coincides with the declaration of independence from other Central American countries.
On September 16th, 1810 Miguel Hidalgo I. Costilla summoned the people of Mexico to fight for the liberation of the Mexicans, ruled by the Spanierds since the conquest of Mexico in 1521.
On September 17th, 2005 was held the First Annual celebration of Independence from Mexico in the Fireman's Park, located in the city of Middleton, Wisconsin. It was attended by over 1,800 participants from different nationalities. This event exceeded the goal set by the organizers and culminated in the classification of the event by community leaders and local newspapers as a resounding success.
This year the Latino community will celebrate  once again the anniversary of the Independence of Mexico on September 12, 2015 at the Mallards Stadium (Warner Park) in the city of Madison. Enjoy with your family and friends this great experience.
